Ashley Black

Ashley Black joined Dr. John M. Torrens on The Total Entrepreneur for one episode on mind.

What Ashley talked about

Ashley Black discussed how a childhood marked by chronic illness, including spinal taps and repeated blood draws, and later a near-fatal infection, pushed her to invent the Fascia Blaster and build the company around it into a $200 million business. She described a near-death experience during that illness in which she says she heard voices telling her she had to return because she had children and a purpose, and how that moment reshaped her belief that life exists only in the present, with no do-over.

She talked about surviving public backlash, lawsuits, and a sudden loss of credit, and how those experiences pushed her toward what she calls spiritual detachment: separating the character she plays in her business from who she considers her true self, and solving problems from a calm state rather than the panicked state in which they arose. She also argued that sustainable entrepreneurship depends on protecting personal energy and time, cutting unnecessary obligations, and building a business around the specific daily life someone wants rather than the reverse.
